Fowsia Haque paints circles on circles that represent her mother.

She has a love for intense warm colours.

COMPLEX DRAWING BY DANIEL LUCAS

Danny Lucas prefers to draw with pens or pastels because they produce the longest continuous marks. He uses as many as he can hold in one hand and will often use both hands simultaneously. This way he builds up a rhythmic dense web of lines.

As the drawing develops Dan often seems to go into an ecstatic trance.

The finished work is bold and rich and has a calm meditative presence.

CLASSIC CARTOONS REVISITED

Leroy Alexander is fascinated by vintage cartoon imagery. His current paintings begin life as dot to dot tracings based on drawings taken from a Tin Tin book.

These line drawings are then painted over in watercolour producing mysterious and almost abstract images.
